This was a really fun trip that we took with some of our friends. The train left from Horseshoe Bend and traveled north to Banks. When we got to Banks we got off the train and were at the "North Pole". Here we got to visit Santa and play in the village. It was a perfect day for it...snowing. :0 This year Chloe would not sit on Santa's lap without us very close by.

On the train....there were carolers who came around and sang Christmas carols to us...fun!

Wow!! This is cool!! Chloe loved the train ride!! Maybe we will make this an annual tradition!

I can't believe how long it has been since I last posted. It has been a crazy busy couple of months. School started, wedding (Katie Bender's) in Tacoma, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and now Christmas. Since it would take me till New Years to post all that we have done, I am just going to post a sneek peek of all of our adventures. It has been a wonderful fall and a great start to winter. Chloe is going to learn how to ski this week and her daddy can't wait. I really hope she likes the snow. :)

4th of July!!!

We decided to stay in town for the 4th (we are heading to Yahats, OR on the 9th), so we went down to the park to watch the fireworks. We were unsure if Chloe could make it till ten, but she did. She mostly love the fireworks. Little scary at first with the big booms, but then there were a lot of ooohh and ahhhs.

It was a really hot day, so Brook set up her pool and we all lounged in it. She loved the slide. It just seems like every day is more and more fun. Next we are heading out on our big vacation to the Oregon Coast. We will be gone for a week and I am sure to have some great pictures of the trip soon! Hope everyone is having a great summer!! Really Chuck!! This was at the Reckless Kelly show last Friday night. Collette partied her pants off!! :0 Chloe and I have been enjoying parent swim mornings at Ivy Wild. We play with friends on Mondays and Fridays in the kiddie pool. She is such a fish!

After our boat ride with the Lamms we hug out with the fam. Piper and Cassidy are getting so big. They are so good with Chloe.

The Lamms treated us to a boat ride on Cascade Lake a couple of weekends ago. Chloe loved the boat ride.....especially when we were going really fast.

This was her first experience with sand. She dug in the sand for almost an hour....wow!!

Memorial Day Bees!!

Our neighborhood peacock!! He came out to see what all the action was.
Ok, so here is what went down. I was working out in the yard and started hearing loud buzzing. It got so loud that I looked over the fence and literally saw a black cloud coming straight at me. It turned out that every bee in Boise decided to come and party at the Bender's. I ran inside and called Brook (he was out on a bike ride with Chloe). I warned him not to come in the back gate. He wasn't sure what to think about my "thousands of bees" since one bee usually sends me screaming. Of course it was a holiday so no one was answering phones at the pest control places. We then decided to leave it until morining...I went out to dinner with a friend and when I got home the bee keeper was there. The bees had moved their queen into our vent over the stove and had made themselves quite cozy there. They then decided that that was not enough for them and came into the house. One of the neighbors helped Brook get the bees out of the house, but there was no way we could sleep knowing thousands of bees were now able to get in. The bee keeper got most of them, but there was still a lot in the vent. The next day we had to call an exterminator to kill the rest. Nice huh!!

Chloe borrowed this toy from Brock and Susan, but Ian is now big enough to play with it and we had to give it back. She was sad for a moment, but as it goes for most 17 month olds...she has forgot her devistation already.

Elmo made an appearance at the party. For some reason Chloe was afraid of this Elmo and not the one at the park a month ago. Maybe it had something to do with who was inside....sorry Josh. ;)

She felt safer watching from a distance with Daddy.

Brook spent a couple of weekends ago putting up latice over our deck. It looks so nice and keeps our south facing deck much cooler. I am glad it was him up on that ladder and not me!! I couldn't even watch.

It was also very hot that weekend....90 degrees, so I bought Chloe a fun new sprinkler and we had some fun outside. When she got too cold, she chilled in her chair to warm up.

This is the sprinkler...too fun! It shoots water up the middle and she puts balls down the shoot and then they fly up the middle.

Viva Las Vegas!!! Spring Break!

My Parents Brought Me Where for Spring Break!! We headed down to Las Vegas to see Kara and JR and my mom and Bob. We stayed several nights with the Williams and then a couple with my mom. We had a great time...wish the weather would have been better, but oh well! It was great to get out of town. Here are some great pics from our adventure.

Kara is nanny for a little girl Sonya who is about the same age as Chloe. We wanted them to meet so Kara and I took Chloe over there one afternoon for them to play. It was so cute! Chloe, who is usually very shy for about the first 20 minutes, when strait for the toys and had a blast. Sonya is not so use to having to share her toys, but they had a great time!

One night we had a girls night out in the local casinos. We went out to dinner and gambled (penny slots) until late in the night. We had so much fun!!

Grammy bought Chloe a chair while we were there and she loved it!! We actually bought her one for home also. She is getting to be such a big girl. Where does the time go?

We stayed a couple nights at Grammy and Grandpa house in Vegas. Chloe had a blast and was soooooo spoiled!

It was really windy and the weather was not very nice, so one day we went to the mall. Chloe played on the Bob the Builder truck.

So good to see our family!! They were so good to us and we thank them tons for having us!

The plane ride to LV went really well. I had wrapped several presents for her to open and keep her entertained...hard to do with a 15 month old! On the way home we had a much different story. Our plane was supposed to leave Vegas at 7pm, but did not leave until 10:30pm...ugg!! It was a struggle to say the least. We were the people on the plane with the screaming child. Most of the screams were from being delerious, but then she melted. She finally fell asleep the last 15 minutes of the ride. We were so happy to be home after that. We did not actually get home until 2am.

We made the mistake the other night by giving Chloe some "spaghetti o's" type food. This is the result!! She went strait to the bath, but thought it was pretty funny! :)

Chloe had her 1 year Dr. appt. yesterday and she is still very long and lean. She weighed in at 19 lbs and was 30 3/4 inches long. That put her in the 20% for weight and 75% for height. She just amazes us everyday with all the things she learns how to do! Dancing is a huge hit right now. She will stand and then twirl in a circle while the music plays. I have been trying to get it on video, but as soon as she sees the camera come out, she lunges for it. :) Another big hit right now is kisses. She loves to give kisses. She kisses everything, the dog, cat, mama, dada, books, babies, neighbors, and yes her doctor yesterday. Grandpa Knoblich stopped by yesterday and as soon as he picked her up she gave him a big kiss. It made his week! I will try to get some kissing pics soon!! I also am having trouble loading videos (too big), but Grandpa is going to help us out with that. She is walking like a champ. She no longer needs to crawl to something to get up after a fall, she can stand right back up again without holding on to anything. Wow, do they learn fast!! We are heading to McCall this weekend for winter carnival and I hope we get to go on the hayride.....I will post again soon!

Last night we took Chloe to the mall to introduce her to Santa. We were a little nervous about this adventure (We all have see Christmas Story), but it went remarkably smooth!! Santa was on a break when we got there, so we had to wait a little. By the time all was said and done we were only in line for 30 minutes (or I should say I was in line...Brook took Chloe strollin' to get some gifts). The Santa was very good. He looked great and Chloe really liked him (no crying). Little did we know you don't have to buy their pictures. You can wait in line, plop your kid on the big guy's lap, and snap your own photo. Next Year.... This year we paid for the professional photo, but I think it turned out great.

Other big news on the Bender front is that Chloe is taking real steps. She will let go of whatever she is holding onto and stand for a few seconds. The other night she walked back and forth between me and Brook several times. Each time she took about 4 steps. We really think she will be walking by Christmas and at the latest, by her birthday. My next goal is to try to get her walking on video. As soon as I do, I will post.

Joining the World of Bolgging!!

Since our baby website has been down for so long, I decided to try out the bogging scene. Things have been very busy, but very fun around our house. Chloe is on her way to walking. She can crawl so fast and walk by holding onto objects. She has started to let go of things and try steps on her own. I wish I could put her in a padded suit for the next 6 months. :)

We had Thanksgiving down in Twin with my Dad and Tracy. It was great to see some of the family down there. We will be spending time in Twin and McCall for Christmas. All of the family will be in Twin and we are looking forward to seeing everyone and having them spend some time with Chloe. She hasn't seen most of her aunts and uncles since June. Then, we are off to McCall for some more Christmas fun with the Benders. Brook is looking forward to skiing (hopefully there will be some snow soon) while Chloe and I snuggle down and get some much deserved R & R.

Chloe's 1st birthday is less than a month away (Jan. 1st) and we are going to have a party for her on the 3rd. We are looking forward to it!! It is so amazing how the time has flown!! I know everyone always says that time flies once you have kids, but I never realized just how true that could be. It has been a wonderful and amazing year!! Love to all!!
